That Smell

This sequence from a speech about the Muslim Brotherhood by Gamal Abdel Nasser is used to illustrate a fascinating rumination about Sonallah Ibrahim, his first novel, That Smell, and Egypt’s past and future by Yasmine El Rashidi in the latest WdW Review published by the Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art in Rotterdam. Many thanks to the WdW director, Defne Ayas, for bringing it to our attention.
